I just sent an e-mail to most folks but in case it did not reach everyone, please see below:

Dear friends, family and colleagues,

Thank you so very much for all of your support, well wishes and contributions to me and my marathon team – the MGH Emergency Response Team. I successfully completed the 2015 Boston Marathon and could not have done it without each and every one of you cheering me on! It was an incredible experience after a long and challenging 6 months of training. BUT – despite my ankle issues and not actually pounding the pavement since the end of January (I followed the training plan on the elliptical vs. running for the last 2.5 months), I crossed the famous finish line on Boylston Street in 4 hours 42 minutes and 7 seconds!

You all also helped me not only achieve my goal of raising $8000 for my team but you helped me surpass it! My total fundraising is now at $8779 with some donations coming in over the last week!!! $1279 of the money raised will be matched dollar for dollar by an anonymous donor since I surpassed $7500. THANK YOU! I am very proud to be an MGH-er and to have had the opportunity to run in support of the wonderful work MGH Emergency Response Team does! You should also be proud that you helped to contribute to the MGH Emergency Response Program so we can be Ready When Seconds Count – whether it be snow storms, disasters, or public health threats!

All my best,

Stuff About Me:

I have always wanted to run a marathon and am excited to have the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon in 2015!  I am running in support of the great work of the MGH Emergency Response Program.  Given the occurrences over the last couple years with the Marathon Bombing, public health threats, including Ebola and MERS, and now with the recent events in Paris, I feel strongly that it is important to support the MGH Emergency Response Program.  I know many of the physician leaders and clinicians, nurses, administrators, and many other staff of all disciplines who are involved in emergency responses.  I, myself, have participated in a disaster drill acting as the Planning Chief.  It was a great experience and great opportunity to see firsthand how the MGH is able to come together to ensure we can respond appropriately to emergencies or disasters and to keep our staff and patients safe.

We all hope that we should never have to call upon the expertise of our truly amazing clinical and operational healthcare teams, but in the event that it is necessary, I want to know that I helped contribute to the great work that my colleagues do each and every day -- and in times of need.  Please join me in supporting my 2015 Boston Marathon Team: MGH Emergency Response and one of my personal milestones of completing 26.2 miles!

See you at the Finish Line on Marathon Monday: April 20, 2015!
