BENEFITING: AMERICAN MALTESE ASSOCIATION RESCUE
EVENT DATE: Jul 23, 2014
Its my 50th Birthday! (On July 23). I can think of no better way to celebrate than to try to raise money to save the lives of little white fluffy dogs!
As you may know, I have had maltese dogs since I was 9 years old. I showed them at the county and state fair in 4-H when I was a kid, and I showed my champion at Westminster in New York when I was a senior in college. My passion is to save the lives of these little angels that have been discarded.
American Maltese Association Rescue steps in and saves those that would otherwise simply be killed. AMAR saved my little Miss Melly, who is the pup on the left in my picture. She was abandoned with 5 others--apparently from a backyard puppy mill. She spent 30 days in a high kill shelter in CA before AMAR stepped in and saved her life.
AMAR has no employees; everyone is a volunteer. They have no office or shelter; all dogs are fostered in the homes of volunteers. They operate on donations only. Every dollar goes to save a dog's life. For more information on AMAR, check out their website at www.americanmalteserescue.org.
I volunteer for American Maltese Association Rescue. I transport rescue dogs from CA to WA to foster or adoptive homes. I visit the homes of prospective adopters. I also foster rescue dogs until they can be adopted. So many are sick or old and AMAR's vet bills are huge. These little white fluffs just need a second chance at life and AMAR gives it to them.
I am so lucky--I don't need a thing! But if you would like to give me something in honor of my big day, won't you please donate to AMAR to save a life?
I think that typically at this point I pledge to like run a marathon or something, but I just dont know about that....I will keep you posted.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
