BENEFITING: ANGEL CITY PIT BULLS
ORGANIZER: ANGEL CITY PIT BULLS
EVENT: 2015 LA Marathon
EVENT DATE: Mar 15, 2015
So I'm running the 30th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Marathon in March and this will be my 30th Marathon, kookoo! I decided to run for the Charity Angel City Pits that my friend is a supporter and activist for years. I've seen first hand how this Charity saves dogs from being euthanized, puts them in a great foster home and then after some love and time, adopted! I think "Pitbulls" have a bad rap mainly caused by the behaviors of the owners.
The term ‘pit bull’ originally referred to the American Pit Bull Terrier - a wonderful breed of dog that is at the root of many breeds that now fall under the ‘pit bull’ umbrella. More often, pit bull (notice the lowercase lettering), is a generic term for several closely related breeds or even less specific, as anything that even looks like a ‘pit bull’.
I'm trying to raise at least $3000 to help them out and to give me an extra incentive to keep going when I get tired. I actually have been training for this race, who knew?
If you can skip your morning Starbucks, buy less gas and get a Prius, Shave a little off your kids' college fund and donate to Angel City Pits, I'd really appreciate it!!!
Here are some more details to where your money goes...or you can skip it and hit the BLUE Donate button to the right.:)
ACPB could not accomplish this without the incredible generosity of our supporters. You can be a hero and save the life of a dog by sponsoring our marathon efforts. Your tax-deductible donation will help with some of these life-saving expenses:
$25: Collar and Leash Sponsor: Provides a collar, tag, and leash for a new dog entering our program.
$50: The Food Sponsor: Provides a one month supply of high protein, grain-free, premium diet and a enriching beef knuckle bone for one dog.
$100: The Spay/Neuter Sponsor: Provides a spay/neuter surgery for one dog.
$200: The Basic Rescue Sponsor: Saves the life of one dog by covering the shelter rescue fee, flea-meds, deworming, a one-month supply of high-protein grain-free premium food, and supplies.
$300: The TLC Sponsor (Basic Rescue Sponsor + Vetting): All of the above plus a trip to the vet and meds for a dog with a simple shelter acquired infection.
$400: The Puppy Sponsor (TLC Package + Vaccines): All of the above provided for a new puppy plus all required vaccines.
$500: The Mange Puppy Sponsor (Puppy Sponsor + Mange Treatment until resolved): In an overcrowded shelter system, puppies with severe demodex are frequently euthanized. This treatable condition can take several months to clear. In the shelter, these dogs are rarely adopted, leaving rescue as an only option for survival.
$750: The ICU Sponsor (TLC Package + Veterinary Boarding): The TLC package plus an admission to a vet hospital for a severe respiratory infection, shelter acquired pneumonia, or virus requiring isolation.
$1000: The Spay/Neuter Angel: Provides funding for 10 dogs to receive spay/neuter surgery.
Every dollar raised helps the dogs we love. Thank you for your support!!!
