As most of you already know I have the amazing opportunity to participate in this year’s Boston Marathon! Yesterday I received an email stating that I could set up a personal fundraising page and I thought this would make this opportunity even more meaningful. I already knew of a cause that would be perfect, so I chose to fundraise for the Angelman Syndrome Foundation, as many of you also know this is not only a cause that is very close to my heart but to my family’s as well.
My cousin Greg, who is 4 months older than I am, has Angelman Syndrome. He is one of the happiest, fun loving young men that I know. However, many of the everyday things that I take for granted Greg will never get to experience. One of those things is to run and that is why I thought this cause would be perfect. I think in life many of us take things for granted and do not truly understand how great the simple things in life are. I will admit many days I take going for a run for granted as if it is something everyone has the privilege of doing but it is not and that’s something I will strive to be aware of in my future. Knowing that through my running though I am able to give back to this cause is a great feeling.
Any contribution towards this wonderful cause no matter the amount would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your love and support,
