"Angels for Animals Hospice is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization”
My name is Michelle Carroll and I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself as a new member of the Animal Care and area health and wellness community.
I am a Registered Nurse with nearly 30 years’ experience in the care of the human population. I am also in the process of my Veterinary Technician Degree. At this stage in my career, I have decided to move to the area of health care that is so dear to my heart. The world of Animals. I have been in Home Health and Hospice for the last 15 years and it became very apparent to me, when my own dog became very ill a couple of years ago, that there is no one available to help the family through this most difficult part of life. As you are aware, the loss of a pet can be as traumatic as the loss of a close human friend or family member. In my experience, it is often the family that needs my help rather than the patient and I want to be there for the family & the pet.
I do not do any kind of diagnostics or blood work. I want to work with the family Veterinarian, so the right care plan is being adhered to by Angels for Animals Hospice and the family. As with Human Care, the care plan and medication plan would not be changed without instruction from the Veterinarian. Our main concern is to prevent suffering of the animal and to be there for the family when the animal passes or must be euthanized.
WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP!
We are setting up a new Hospice Facility and trying to raise $15,000 to get us started. We need:
Kennels, Dishes, Food, Blankets, Raised Beds, Toys, Cushions, Bandages and Wound Care Items, Fish oil and Nutrients suitable for senior animals. Most of our pets are dogs. Heating and Cooling Pads as well as donations towards the facility. The rent for the facility alone is $1500 a month and we also need to adapt it to our needs and make it warm and welcoming for our animals. I am trying to create a home from home atmosphere so that the pets do not feel abandoned or lonely in their time of need. Anything you can do to help us would be greatly appreciated. Big or small. Monetary donations can be made on our website www.angelsforanimalshospice.com or checks can be sent to us made payable to Angels for Animals Hospice. We can come by and pick up other items if you would like us too. When we are set up we will also send you an invite to our opening so that you can see what we have created. Right now, I am caring for 10 dogs in my own home so this Hospice facility is greatly needed. Receipts will be given for all donations so you can use them for tax purposes.
All Animals deserve to be allowed to die with dignity, comfortable & pain free. Please help me to provide this for as many animals as possible regardless of the family's ability to pay.
