Hello ) my name is Kathy Arena, my roomate Angel is suffering from a disease called CRPS 2. This was diagnosed to her a year and a half after her initial injury. Thank you workman's Comp. She has been through hell with misdiagnoses and crappy docters. She has always worked 2 jobs or more her entire life and has put a lot of effort into helping others. Every year she donates her art for numerous fund raisers to help others. Unfortunately she is at a point where she is physically challenged and is struggling to make ends meet. Her case was pushed back yet another year. Her disease has spread to multiple body parts including both arms and les and affects her brain. When she is capable of going out life is good, but as her roommate I see her condition in the raw on a daily basis. There are times when she is not able to walk or get out of bed. She gets bright red from inflamed nerves. I have tried to help her as much as I can. She crys every night in pain, and feels totally hopeless and helpless at times. Its so sad to see someone go from a totally self sufficient, independant, outgoing person that helps everyone else to being so dependant on doctors, friends and loved ones. There is no cure for this disease as of yet. Doctors have a hard time diagnosing it as well as treating it because as much of the other autoimmune diseases, they don't understand it yet! She is a very proud person that refuses to as for help and continually denies it from me even though she is one of your best friends. If you can, please help and give what you can. You never know when something like this could happen to you.
