BENEFITING: GIVE HOPE FIGHT POVERTY
Swaziland may be ignored as a blip on the map if not for it having the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence in the world at over 42% HIV+. AIDS related deaths have left over 120,000 orphaned and vulnerable children which far exceeds the number of potential caregivers. This has resulted in a child-headed household phenomenon where children, some as young as 12 years old, have become the heads of their households and forced to raise their younger brothers and sisters with no food, education, or adult support.
With your help, we can make real differences in the lives of these kids! This November, Give Hope, Fight Poverty will travel with a team of volunteers to:
- Paint a mural at our new GHFP Elementary School
- Pay the tuition of our child-headed household orphans for the 2014 School year
- Implement the 1,259 student feeding program
- Implement our Child-Headed Household emergency feeding program
- Create an income-generation program for eLangeni Village
I have always had a heart for orphans and this an experience that will not only make a difference in these children's lives, but in mine as well. I had the opportunity to go to Swaziland for my internship in while at Purdue University and I will never forget that experience. The children in eLangeni truly changed my perspective on the world. They had so much life and hope in them even though they are faced with circumstances we can't even imagine. GHFP still works with the village we worked with when I was there and it's amazing to see the difference they have made in these children's lives. I can't wait to be a part of that again and I would greatly appreciate your help.
Please consider lending a hand to educate and empower orphans in rural Swaziland. Give Hope, Fight Poverty is a registered 501c3 nonprofit consisting entirely of volunteers. Your tax-deductible donation (either of the requested items below or money) will be used to help combat hunger, prevent illiteracy, and provide sustainable solutions to ease the impact of HIV on young lives.
All donations will go to cover trip expenses as well as purchasing toys and clothes for the children before we head over. Anything beyond that will be donated directly to Give Hope, Fight Poverty.
Checks can be sent directly to Give Hope Fight Poverty for a tax deduction!!
