ARRI saves dogs living outside on the coast of VA right before hurricane Matthew hits!
October 13, 2016
BENEFITING: ANIMAL RESCUE RHODE ISLAND
EVENT DATE: Oct 15, 2016
Who is ARRI? We are a no-kill organization committed to the humane welfare and well-being of animals in need.
The dedicated staff of ARRI is currently raising money on behalf of Maverick, one of our residing and long time residents. Maverick who suffered abuse as a puppy, arrived to our shelter through our Bark and Ride program.
The Bark & Ride program was established in June 2011, after we received a call to help save a mom and 10 puppies who were due to be euthanized in a South Carolina shelter the following day. Sadly, this family was not unusual, as there are many cats and dogs sitting in these overcrowded, low adoption shelters in the south. Some of these animals are owner surrenders, but most are strays resulting from a lack of spay/neuter laws. After conducting research, a need was recognized and ARRI decided we had to help! While our primary focus is, and has always been owner surrenders, we will reach out to other animal organizations in both Rhode Island and out of state when space is available. On June 18, 2011, we rescued mom Ally and her 10 puppies, and as of September of 2016, the total lives rescued through this valuable program has reached over 950!
Help save homeless animals like Maverick, by supporting Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) in its work to provide loving care to animals in need until they are united with families in their forever homes!
