BENEFITING: ANIMAL WELLNESS FOUNDATION
The Animal Wellness Foundation Marina Facility emerged from the trenches of an overextended veterinary hospital in Marina del Rey, CA. The veterinary staff often sheltered and treated dogs and cats out-of-pocket when their “patients” were either:
1) strays with no support system, or b) pets belonging to owners with insufficient funds for life-saving treatments. When the burden became too great for the hospital’s dwindling resources, Animal Wellness Foundation (AWF) was launched to address these critical needs.
Today, the Animal Wellness Foundation Marina Facility is dedicated to taking in sick or injured animals to offer them shelter, treatment, and rehabilitation until they can be adopted. The Animal Wellness Foundation Marina Facility also provides low/no-cost medical treatment to pets from homes that lack the resources for regular and emergency veterinary treatments. Please note that AWF also provides low/no-cost veterinary care to animals housed in other shelters and rescue organizations.
By providing a high level of critical veterinary care and rehabilitation to canine and feline strays inside our shelter wing, Animal Wellness Foundation helps homeless animals recover quickly so they can be successful adopted into new, loving homes.
Animal Wellness Foundation Marina Facility staff regularly administers vaccines, dispenses medications, treats infections, sets broken bones, performs surgeries, addresses abuse trauma, tests and treats allergies, creates prosthetics, delivers socialization trainings, facilitates physical therapy, and designs physical therapy programs.
Your generous support for the Saving Pets Challenge 2017 would allow us to maintain and expand the high-level of compassionate adoption and medical aid we provide the diverse populations of dogs and cats that we treat in our facility and SAVE PET LIVES!
