BENEFITING: Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter
Many animals that come in to the Tri-City Animal Shelter & Adoption Center come in as strays. Often they have medical issues that are the only roadblock keeping them from being put up for adoption - living on the streets can be hard! Without a vet on staff or the budget for medical bills, the shelter struggles with finding a life-saving option for these dogs and cats: can a local rescue or non-profit shelter take them and provide the medical care needed? Is there a supporter that can pay the medical costs and foster the animal until they can be brought back into the shelter? We want to empower every volunteer for Tri-City Animal Shelter to help towards this goal. Just as runners and walkers get sponsors for their volunteer efforts (by the mile) we challenge all the Tri-City volunteers, from the youngest students to our most dedicated retirees, to ask friends, family, your social network, anyone you can think of, to sponsor you for every hour worked. Your time as a volunteer is incredibly important to the mental and physical health of the animals of Tri-City. Let's try to make those hours do double duty!
