BENEFITING: Animals for Adoption
EVENT DATE: Oct 15, 2016
This past month, we had an unexpected emergency at Animals for Adoption (AFA) in Accord, New York. Our well ran dry.
A new well was quickly installed – but at the cost of $8,000. The animals have the water they need, but the well created a massive drain on AFA's budget.
Animals for Adoption is in a fiscal crisis for the year ahead. You know our mission: Giving care, housing, training and medical treatment to recused or abandoned dogs. Then, adopting them out to loving people for a new chance at life.
This financial emergency puts our mission in jeopardy. That’s not good news for the many dogs who will need our help in the coming months. Here’s the bottom line:
We need to raise money by the end of October to restore the $8,000. This amount will restore AFA’s financial balance so we can continue their mission: caring for abandoned and surrendered canines, before the chill of autumn and winter sets in.
Jane Kopelman, the director of Animals for Adoption, is a highly regarded worker in the field of humane treatment and placement of animals. We need to ensure that her crucial work continues.
