Hood and ending at Seaside Oregon. It's possibly my favorite event through the year! What could be better than running a great relay race and supporting a very worthy cause together?! Each year the Running for Shelter team raises money to support a green, affordable, low income housing project. This year we are running for the Fordham Bedford Community Housing, a nonprofit community organization in Bronx, New York, providing safe, affordable housing to more than 3,000 families.
This is a project that I deeply believe in. Affordable low income housing that is energy efficient, making it possible to maintain low monthly utilities AND proving that green housing doesn't have to be a luxury. This project also has rooftop and ground level gardens, giving residents the opportunity to grow their own veggies.
You may not be able to join me in a smelly (but delightfully fun) van for 25 hours but you can be a part of our team. Join us by donating to the cause and make a difference for a community through a project that actually empowers that community.
I would like to Raise $10 for each mile of the race... Grand total of $1970!
With a $100 donation, I will write your name on my massive biceps and send you a picture from the race. Tempting isn't it??
