There's no way I'm getting on a bike to raise money for the Kellogg-Hubbard Library but I certainly don't mind raising it here!
When you support me, you support the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. I've served here as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the past 10 months and have been fortunate enough to witness the extraordinary power of this space and the people who use it each day.
Don't take my word for it. Here's the schpeel:
The Kellogg-Hubbard Library was established in 1896 to provide books, materials and access to information free of charge and to promote and stimulate knowledge, culture and reading for pleasure for all adults and children. It is a resource that encourages life-long learning, is a catalyst for the free exchange of ideas and promotes literacy among all people.
Thev Library carries on important educational outreach, providing materials for daycares, home-schoolers and summer reading programs.
The Library is Montpelier’s cultural center providing art exhibits, film discussions, music programs, an annual month-long celebration of poetry, and many humanities programs. About 800 people come to the library each day. Many more patrons access our databases and research information online anytime of the day or night.
