EVENT: Your Journey Your Cause 2016
I am the eldest of six children in the family. As such, I had the privilege of helping my parents care for my siblings growing up in the Philippines. In fact, I practically helped support them all financially through college during my 22.5 years of service in the United States Navy.
I have fond memories of my childhood with my siblings until my brother Ronald (30) was diagnosed with Lung Cancer; an athlete and non-smoker. To this very day, it still hurts a lot hearing of my brother’s sufferings from numerous surgeries until l his death while I was in Iraq.
My involvement with the “Anna Schindler” Cancer Foundation has since made me more cognizant of the many families going through this type of agony; something that no family should ever have to live with.
My entry in the upcoming Couer d'Alene Ironman is not only in an effort to raise money but also honor my brother Ronald, 3 uncles, 1 aunt and the many courageous family and friends who fought a good fight or are still fighting this disease. It is my prayer that our efforts would make a difference in the lives of these families.
Please note that your donations are tax deductible. Find in your heart to make a difference in the life of these children and their families by donating to the “Anna Schindler” Cancer Foundation.
