For the last 14 years, our family has participated in this wonderful event to celebrate and thank the many wonderful surgeons, nurses and Children's Hospital Boston staff of the Cleft Lip and Palate Team who have continued to support us on Charlie's journey.
The picture we chose this year helps to represent our gratitude. Gerry asked Dr. Mulliken even before Charlie was born, "Will our child be able to play a horn?" and not only did the good doctor smile and say without hesitation "YES!" but Charlie has since been awarded for instrumental music performance on French Horn both through Junior Districts and his middle school music program. Now at 14 and about to enter high school, he looks forward to continuing his love of the French Horn along with the rest of his studies.
We still have a long road to go with braces and other preparation for a final procedure in a few years, but we know we are in the best place possible to make it happen. Thank you to the team for your expertise and compassion, and to our family and friends who continue to support us along the way. Any contribution you make in Charlie's name helps to support another family on their own journey.
With love and thanks, The Gagnon Family
