Anne's Alzheimer's Aftermath - Please Help Save Her House!
Organized by: Chuck Warren
Two years ago my mom started "acting funny" and spent a lot of time hiding her problems from us instead of asking for help. Her standard response became "Oh, I'm just a little scattered today". Turns out she's been scattered because she has Alheimers disease and has made a bit of a mess of things because of it. The biggest problem is that she has done a really good job of hiding the problems from us instead of letting us help her out, until they have grown so big I don't know if we can stop them. But, we need to try of course. After finding an incredible organization nearby - the Advanced Medical Research Institute of New jersey, which also deserves our support for their incredible staff and great work, Mom's downhill slide has stopped but now that we are digging through the piles of mail and papers we've discovered she has also not paid her mortgage and hid it from us. There has since been a sheriffs sale and I am doing my best to find out what bank owns the house so we can try to work a deal with them. My Mom has about a month and a half to come up with enough money to save her house, and I am trying everything I can to do it. If we can save the house she does not have to go to an unfamiliar place which I am told can accelerate the downward slide with dementia and Alzheimers patients. Please help us save her house, and meet our goal to pay it off if that's possible. If we can guarantee the last years of her life in a familiar place I know we will have an easier fight with the Alzheimers disease results. Several doctors have told me the same thing. Mom has a small business she runs from her house, and she also has a woman who trades rent for one room for cooking and cleaning and general support around the place. The Alheimer's clinic she's been going to is only 20 minutes from her house and we are starting to see remarkable results from their care. We would really, really be taking a big step towards making the end of her life more comfortable mentally and physically by rescuing her house. If you can't support us please consider supporting the Advanced Memory Research Institute located at 9 Mule Rd in Toms RIver, NJ. Their support and treatment have been incredible through this. They have stopped the rapid downward spiral and Mom is now pretty level. She has even gone back to work, taking it slow of first, and has had some really good results. Please help us save her house, it's all she has and we are so afraid of what will happen if we have to move her. She also has very limited options for places to live since she has no money, so our best course of action is to save her house. Please give $5 or $10 or whatever you can to help us save her house and protect her. Our number one goal is to keep her warm and dry, please help however you can. Even .50 is a step forward. Thank you for anything you can do to help, Chuck
