(Please note that this CrowdRaise Account has been set up only to make it easier for friends and family to sponsor Annika for her Nationals trip SKATE-A-THON fundraiser, not as a charity or a “give me money because I don’t want to pay for it myself” deal.)
Hi! This is Anni. With a lot of hard work and dedication, I have earned my place on the National team representing the Southwest Pacific Region at the Figure Skating Championship in Lincoln, Nebraska this month. This will be a week-long event competing against some of the best figure skaters from around the country in three different events; Juvenile A Girl’s Freestyle, Freshman/Sophomore Pairs and Youth Quartet. I’m very excited to have the chance to compete at this championship. I have only been skating and competing for less than three years and I am so happy to be traveling along with six other talented skaters that will make up the SoCal Freestyle Company’s 2016 Nationals team. Now that I have earned my place on the team, I need to raise money in order to help pay my expenses. These include pro fees, team jacket, gas, hotel and food while I’m there. I have already purchased my equipment and costumes, and I have covered my entry fees. I sell fresh eggs from my chickens to help with expenses, but that’s not enough. This is where you all come in. By sponsoring my SKATE-A-THON (skaters get sponsored by the lap or flat fee and they skate as many laps in 30 minutes as they can!), you can help me and my family pay for all the other expenses. It was suggested that we use an online fundraiser account in order to make it easier for our family and friends across the country who wish to support my fundraiser. Any amount will be greatly appreciated, and if you can’t donate, your positive thoughts and prayers for a successful and safe trip and contest are just as appreciated! My goal at the National Championship is to skate my personal best and ultimately take my place on the podium again. Thank you for reading this, and blessings to you all!
