BENEFITING: ROCKY MOUNTAIN ACADEMY OF EVERGREEN FOUNDATION
RMAE has grown tremendously since it’s founding and now serves over 400 students in pre-school through 8th grade. In the last several years we moved from a strip-mall type, rented location, to our own buildings on a few acres next to beautiful Elk Meadow Open Space Park. In 2010, we completed a build-out of a formerly unused 8,000 square foot basement. That ‘lower level’ facility is home to a new cafeteria and our curriculum ‘specials’ (music, art, Spanish and technology). Maybe more than anything else, RMAE is known for the investment we make in our students in these specials – ensuring a well-rounded education beyond the 3 R’s.
While we’ve grown and now serve more families than ever, public funding has declined. Since 2007, when we moved to our new campus, and put up a bond to fund the land and buildings, ‘per pupil revenue’ (PPR) from the county has been reduced by almost $1,000. This annual reduction of between $300,000-$400,000 has put a tremendous strain on our budget, forcing some very tough decisions and leaving little money to invest for the future.
The school is asking for direct financial support of our operating budget with a donation to the RMAE Annual Giving Campaign. 100% of these donations go to the school’s budget!
Our goal is to raise $125,600 equal to about $300 per student.
The story of Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen is remarkable. A small group of dedicated parents forging a new school from scratch because they wanted something better for their children. More than that, those founding families and many others since, have given countless hours, and generous amounts of money, to ensure that RMAE will survive for everyone else’s children too!
Thank you for your support!
