Ansonia HS Class of 1986 Dr. Teresa Tottenham Sievers Award
Organized by: Kathleen Strom
In June of 2015, Dr. Teresa Tottenham Sievers departed this earth far too soon. Teresa was in the prime of her life, furthering her goal of spreading wellness to the world and raising her two beautiful daughters.
Although friends and family continue to wait for justice to prevail regarding her passing, we - the AHS Class of 1986 - have decided to begin an annual award in her name in an effort to memorialize the kindness and philanthropy that Teresa personified during her lifetime.
Throughout her high school years, Teresa was a determined spirit who knew that one day she would go on to help others through medicine. Anyone who met Teresa knew she would achieve this goal. Countless patients and friends have offered testimony about Teresa's healing spirit and her efforts to help not only those who could pay for her services, but also those who could not. Teresa is dearly missed.
The Class of 1986 would like to annually honor a deserving Ansonia High School senior who exemplifies all that Teresa, our valedictorian, brought to the world.
As we come together to celebrate our 30th graduation anniversary, please help us in raising the $10,000 required to establish an award endowment with the Valley Community Foundation. Once we meet the $10,000 threshold, The Valley Community Foundation will administer the annual award In Teresa's name. With this endowment, the award will go on in perpetuity.
Thank you and feel free to contact me with any questions.
