BENEFITING: GEORGIA TECH FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Mar 10, 2016
Dr. E. Jo Baker established the Presidential Schoalarship Program at Georgia Tech in the 1980's and since then it has attracted and supported nearly 2,000 students. Her vision and perseverance ensured the long-term survival of the program that has made a huge impact on Georgia Tech and its students. So, on March 10, 2016 I'll be running in the Antarctica Marathon and using this as a vehicle to raise money for the Dr. E. Jo Baker Presidential Scholarship Endowment.
I'm hoping this unique event, c'mon, how many people do you know that have been to Antarctica let alone run a marathon there, will crystalize support for honoring this great woman. You can pledge by the mile or by the number of penguins passed, which I'm told can vary from 1 to several hundred depending on how fishy you smell. If you pledge $10 or more per mile you'll get a postcard from as far south as possible. Pledge $20 or more and I'll take a picture of your child's, or your own Flat Stanley with a penguin. More than that and I'll get really creative with a customized Thank You for you.
