Hey how's it going?
hmmm about me huh? Well I started running about 6-7 years ago as a way to lose weight. When I started I was 360 lbs and could barely run 1/4 of a mile, I stuck with it, iced down my shin splints, & kept going. I started going further & further until I completed my first half marathon and never looked back.
I dropped about 190 pounds and joined the United States Marine Corps in 2012. Where in 29 Palms California I did a half Marathon for my own PR of about 1h41m.
A severe bruse to my ACL took me away from running distances over 7 miles for the rest of my time in the Corps, but I also started getting very motivated doing various charity works.
I got out of the Marine Corps this past May & started running again. Thankfully despite Pittsburgh's winter I was able to train enough to complete the Austin half marathon this past Valentines Day.
I wanted to run the Pittsburgh marathon this may and was delighted to see you could run it for charity, so I have teamed up with one of my very favorite ones Children Hospital.
I have also made a wager to anyone who donates, that if we can double my donation minimum of $350 to $700 I will DOUBLE my miles and run the full marathon.
