BENEFITING: Human Rights Campaign NYC Marathon Team
ORGANIZER: Human Rights Campaign NYC Marathon Team
I am extremely excited to be running in 4 more Spartan Races, finishing my trifecta, before the end of the year. I will be running on behalf of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).
The tragedy in Orlando hit our community hard, awakening many of us to the fight for our rights that's still present. This event inspired me to start making a difference in any way that I can, to serve my community. The Human Rights Campaign serves as the largest civil rights organization in America working to achieve LGBTQ equality. By inspiring and engaging individuals and communities, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
As I prepare for 35 miles of racing and 110 obstacles I vow to take the hardships that are presented as chances not to fail or pass unchanged, but to overcome and thrive!
Wind extinguishes a candle and energizes fire.
Likewise with randomness, uncertainty, and chaos: you want to use them, not hide from them. You want to be the fire and wish for the wind. - Nassim Nicholas Taleb
