In memory of Linda Sousa
Dear Reader, As you may already know, Linda is my 44-year old cousin who passed away at the beginning of July. Linda was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (The Big C) in De-cember 2011. After making what we thought would be a full recovery, the cancer reared its ugly head in the Summer of 2015, this time as Metastatic Breast Cancer. (Stage 4 Breast Cancer that spreads beyond the breast.) Being the teacher, mother and selfless person Linda was she spent many days af-ter that diagnosis to help raise awareness for others. I truly believe God chose Linda to educate others about Metastatic Breast Cancer, a cancer that effects an estimated 155,000 other Americans. Linda was more than just a cousin to me, she was my mentor, inspiration, role model and the big sister I never had. Linda wore the big shoes we all tried to fill. She taught us all how to be both strong and kind, but with a level of grace and poise that was inspirational to everyone. So we ask you to run this race, to join our team in Linda's hon-or. Push yourself, be strong, run this race not just for Linda, but for yourself and for all those battling this terrible disease. For all those who physically can’t run this race. Come out and be kind. Don’t push yourself against the clock, push yourself as a team. Look to the person struggling aside of you and know they have big battles inside, be their strength, be their motiva-tor. Live like Linda! Thank you in advance from all of us at Anytime Fitness Bur-rillville. We are beyond blessed to call each of you our family! Let’s come together on September 24, 2017 to bring awareness to Metastatic Breast Cancer, in honor of one of our family members, Linda.
Much love, Beth
