The Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute (APALI) Youth Leadership Summit was founded by a collective of community activists, educators, counselors, and professionals originating from the communities of East San Jose. This group found inspiration in their shared experiences while attending a leadership program at De Anza College known as the APALI Youth Leadership Academy - a six week full day course designed to develop Asian American identity, history, political awareness and civic engagement. We believe it is important to bring our experiences back to our roots, our homes and neighborhoods.
