• APCH GirlPower Awards Luncheon 2017 •
Honoring Jennifer Weg and the Women of Soap Box
Additional Honorees To Be Announced
Founded in 1993 to provide safety, love and support for kids facing adversity in a tough neighborhood, A Place Called Home is an oasis in South Central Los Angeles where proven programs in education, wellness and arts empower young people to improve their economic conditions and develop healthy, fulfilling, purposeful lives.
The GirlPower Awards Luncheon benefits A Place Called Home's programs, particularly the APCH GirlPower Project — a year-long program that inspires inner-city ‘tweens and teens to discover the beauty and strength of their minds and spirits, and teaches them skills that will empower them to transition into womanhood and lead productive lives.
The GirlPower Awards celebrate women who have empowered themselves and achieved success in their professional and personal lives by giving back. These women inspire young girls and all of us to embrace our potential and find ways to make a positive impact in the world.
Each day at APCH, hundreds of youth ages 8-21 and their families access a comprehensive array of services and opportunities to improve their lives. With your support for A Place Called Home and our 2017 GirlPower Awards Luncheon, we will continue to serve the youth and families of South Central into our third decade.
