UPDATE April 11, 2013:
Yesterday, the Sion director called so let us know they need two water heaters and a third is on the brink of failure. They need to heat water on the stove to bathe the 10 babies in the nursery. Your efforts as a group to raise funds to help the children will truly make a difference.
CDV is a nonprofit that provides support for 800 children in 14 different orphanages in Baja Mexico. Over the past six months I’ve been fortunate enough to visit one of the orphanages, Casa Hogar Sion, three times. The purpose of each visit is just to play with the kids and let them know that they are cared for and important. I always come home reaping the benefits of the unconditional love the kids bestow on us, the volunteers.
I will be heading back to Casa Hogar Sion on April 20. For each trip, CDV asks that volunteers help raise money that can be used to provide food and supplies that will last longer than our quarterly visits. Some of you have experienced firsthand how rewarding these trips are and others have expressed interest in participating. For now, I want to ask for your support in meeting my fundraising goal of $250 for this upcoming trip. Every little bit helps. If you can’t donate at this time, please consider sharing the link with others.
Thank you all!
All volunteers are asked to raise funds to help feed the children after our visit. The children struggle each day to not only find food to eat but for other needs like utilities, education, medical and emergencies.
Help us raise $2000 and make sure we can continue to provide life support for the children.
