Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund
Organized by: Keshav Bhattarai
The April 25, 2015 massive earthquake has caused extensive damages in Nepal. So far 4,500 dead bodies have been recovered. Many have been buried under rubble. The situation is beyond imagination. Because of the repeated aftershocks, many people are forced to live under the open sky despite rainy cold weather. Many are getting very sick. There are no places in the hospitals. A lot of people do not have essentials; there are shortages of drinking water, medicines, and essential food. Many are starving. The prices of food commodities have been sky rocketing as some miscreants are looking for opportunities to make quick money.
Soon after the disaster happened, India sent air force to Nepal to rescue people. Then after China, Pakistan, and many other countries sent their rescue teams with medicines, food, tents, clothes and other essentials. Aftershocks are occurring, but disaster reliefs are continuing. However, the destruction being massive, Nepal needs a lot of support at this difficult hour. There have been a lot of inquiries from people all over the places how to help earthquake victims in Nepal. This fund is created in order to facilitate well-wishers who are willingly to support Nepali people at this difficult time. I am in touch with the Nepali authorities. I have been assured that service mechanisms will be put in place to ensure that the relief reaches to the needy people both in Kathmandu and rural areas, where the devastation has been widespread.
