BENEFITING: Aquinas College, Inc.
This year Aquinas College has the opportunity to start a new study abroad program that will take place in Malawi, Africa. A group of nine students will travel alongside Dr.Swithina Mboko, business professor at Aquinas College, for 10 days in Sub-Saharan Africa. Malawi itself shares its borders with Mozambique, Zambia, and Tanzania. Students have the opportunity for field work paired with the class Social Entrepreneurship; a class aimed at learning about the economics of developing countries. Each student will have opportunities to learn in each of their disciplines; areas such as Biology, Community Leadership, Sociology, Theology, Business, and International Studies.
Aquinas is looking to expand this program for the future, therefore this first group will play a crucial part upon returning to help design the rest of the program. Some excursions and projects that will happen while in Malawi includes a trip to the American embassy, a visit to Liwonde National Park, and building relationships with non-profit organizations in Malawi.
We are looking for help raising money for service projects that will be completed while we are there, such as providing school supplies, books, dental supplies, and other needed items.
Your help is greatly appreciated in making this trip a success!
