I need your help to save our water world. I am starting a 501(c)(3) Non-profit Corporation to educate our children, and other interested parties, in the importance of our aquatic planet. I intend to do so through the use of technology that few have access to. I have spent the better part of my life (30 years) working as a professional diver, commercial diver, submersible pilot/technician and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) pilot/technician. I have secured an awesome training location; a 70 acre, 500 ft deep flooded gold mine in the Sierra foothills of California. I have made some industry contacts, and am collaborating with some other “not-for-profits” who share my same vision.
Our students (grades 4-12 and adults) will study marine and freshwater science through the use of sub-sea systems and technology, diving equipment (SCUBA and surface supplied), manned submersibles, remotely operated vehicles (ROV), and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) used in scientific diving and research. The program will also consist of diving medical applications, including first aid and CPR. Students will learn about underwater habitats, safe boating practices and ancillary support equipment. Graduates of the Aquanaut Program will be some of the finest candidates available to the offshore and inshore industries, as well as have a thorough understanding of the importance of our marine and aquatic environment and planet.
