BENEFITING: Viols Of Houston
Aquila di Guerra was founded in the Fall 2015 at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, TX. Originally the ensemble met as an extracurricular after school program with 14 students. Now in its second year it has been included as part of the official school class schedule. The group has enjoyed performance opportunities at the Texas Renaissance Festival, Houston Bach Society Bach Marathon, and for local events in the area. They have been coached by Sarah Mead, Wendy Gillespie, Josh Lee, and Stephanie Raby. It is thanks to the Loan Consort offered by the Viola da Gamba Society of America and support from Viols of Houston that makes this ensemble possible.
This summer we are invited to perform at the Viola Da Gamba Society's Gamba Gamut at Boston Early Music Festival! Needless to say, we are very excited! We are also asking for help on this venture. We must pay for our own travel arrangements to and from Boston as well housing.
Even the smallest amount is a big help. All donations can be made to Viols of Houston, a 501(c)(3) nonpropfit organization, and are tax-deductible.
