We are raising money for an ARDF project in Sololo a town in Marsabit County in Kenya. The region is 80% Muslim, and it is a very dry, arid area. We are working with Tumaini Academy, a Christian school established by the Marsabit Diocese of the Church of Kenya, which serves elementary students grades first through sixth. Because most of the students are Muslim, their education is the first time they (and subsequently their families) are introduced to the Good News of Jesus.
We are helping them expand their facilities to serve more students. These new buildings will include space for administration, as well as a new kitchen. Students receive a meal there each day, which for some, may be the only full meal they'll receive all day.
Tumaini Academy will also be installing a new 13,000 gallon water tank, which is needed to keep the students hydrated in this hot and dry region.
