I have decided to dedicate a year of my college career to be a student missionary through the World Missions Program at Pacific Union College. In the summer of 2013 I went to Fiji for three weeks for a ShareHim project, and it was an experience that I will never forget. After this trip and being surrounded with missions, I felt a conviction that missionary work is for me. I know that God has called me by name and I am ready to go and obey His command.
Nonetheless, I am still in the midst of deciding where God’s will is for me to go. I feel God has a tremendous plan for me, in which my thoughts cannot measure up too. Right now, I am trying to decide between Palau and Fiji. I ask you kindly, to please keep me in prayer as I do the will of Christ. I wish to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share the Gospel with others, helping them to grow spiritually, mentally and physically.
Regardless of where I go I will be teaching at an Adventist academy school where they are in need for teachers who are passionate about sharing their love to the beautiful students on the island. These children are in great need of having one on one time with student missionary teachers who have been called to be used by God, but most importantly to express our love for Jesus and teach them about who He is. Not only will I be on this island for the full year, I will be able to travel within the country from church to church and organize or be a part of other evangelistic teams. There are no words to explain the passion I have to do missionary work around the world, although I know where it comes from and that it is He who lives in me.
James 4:2 says “You do not have because you do not ask.” I know that all expenses will be provided in His good timing and all my faith is in Him. It is my duty to do the works and He will do the rest. To aid in this gift of time spent abroad, the World Missions Program assists in providing insurance, room and board, as well as a small stipend to help cover the cost of basic necessities, and other minor expenses of running the program. The remaining funds are raised through friends and relatives like you.
I need to raise a total of $3,000.00. A portion of this will help fund my airline ticket to where God calls me to serve. Whatever the amount, large or small, your contribution will truly be appreciated toward this undertaking. The money will be put into the World Missions Fund, helping turn my dream of missionary service into something that is immeasurable.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” - Ephesians 3:20
I know God has miraculous things and wonders in store for me wherever he sends me.. In 1 Corinthians 2:9 is says "However, as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him". Powerful!
