Haymakers For Hope via Crowdrise
September 17, 2012
Cancer, Cancer, Cancer. These days, it’s hard to find someone who’s not been impacted by some form of the disease. If not personally affected, almost every person has a friend, a family member or a co-worker who has battled with one of the 100 different types of the disease. It is with this in mind, that I’ve decided to do my part to help literally fight cancer, and to participate in the Haymakers for Hope charity boxing event on November 8th in New York City. All proceeds, for this event will towards cancer research.
Boxing has recently become a bigger part of my life, as I’ve started training at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, one of the oldest and most well-known boxing gyms in New York. The opportunity to participate in my first amateur fight and to do so under the pretences of literally fighting cancer was too good an opportunity to pass up.
As this is a charity event, your donations, small or large are critical. Whether you are looking for a good tax deduction (if you are an American) or just have a general interest in seeing me take a few punches to the face, this is a worthy cause and I urge you to donate what you can. And for those who can make it, please do plan on attending this great night of pugilism and fun.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this endeavour and to everyone who helps fight cancer in other ways. Whether you live in New York, England, Sierra Leone or Hong Kong, please do your part to fight cancer to and to support all of those who battle it personally on a daily basis.
