When dogs get put on Death Row at the shelter, volunteers are faced with a very difficult situation. Healthy dogs that we love are facing imminent death. We contact every rescue we can, making desperate phone calls and emails. At the last minute, when no one has come forward, we have to make a decision.
We just couldn't bear to let these dogs die. We believe in the intrinsic value of all creatures. We put ourselves in a tough situation because these dogs deserve a long, fulfilling life. We have six dogs in a boarding kennel because there was literally no where else for them to go.
The boarding fees are very reasonable at only $10 per day per dog, but it adds up very quickly and can feel insurmountable.
That's why we are asking for your help.
$70 pays for a full week of boarding for one dog. A clean kennel, food, water, and playtime in a yard four times per day.
That's $420 per week for our six dogs. $1,680 per month.
We are working tirelessly to find homes for these dogs. Since we started, we have permanently placed one Death Row Dog (Brownie - FKA Burrow). He is perfect for his family and they couldn't imagine life without him. There are homes out there for our other dogs- we just have to find them. In the meantime, they wait in the kennel.
Each day is a gift for Parker, Bam Bam, Fortunato (FKA Mike), Connor, Hoss, and Jasmine. Help us give them that.
