Veterans, particularly those who have most recently served in the Iraqi and Afghan wars, are hit hard by a challenging economy and fragile employment market with unemployment figures ranging for 7.6 to 20.5%. Veterans, particularly those who have most recently served in the Iraqi and Afghan wars, are hit hard by a challenging economy and fragile employment market with unemployment figures ranging for 12.1 to 29.3%. Recent attention and authorization by Congress has provided over $ 20B in post 9/11 GI Bill funding to more than 759,000 people and their education institutions.
