THE STORY:

We all know someone, whether it's a family member, friend, or an aquaintance made, that has been or is a member of U.S. military. Those people put their lives on the line for all of us. We should all be proud to show our support and respect for these individuals for their service and their families for being the strength, support, and encouragement behind them. I would ultimately like to show my support and appreciation by starting this fundraiser. The Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund has granted me an opportunity to raise funds to support their programs in exchange for paid entry to the Tahoe Tough Mudder 2017.

Now, before you blow this off as nonsense, this is actually going to a great cause. Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund is a non-profit organization that assists Army Ranger veterans and veterans of other special operations forces with more than what the government can do for them and their families. They offer a Ranger Transition program which is pretty self explanatory, they assist Rangers transition back to a civilian lifestyle. They offer the Wounded Ranger Recovery Program, which asissts Rangers that return injured or ill from the time of injury through the short and long-term recovery, rehabilitation and transition process. A Ranger Chaplain Program is offered to assist Ranger Chaplains with the task of enhancing morale of our Rangers and assisting in sustaining family relationships with services like marriage retreats, single ranger retreats, and religious studies for families and childcare for such events. The Ranger & Family Health & Wellness Program is one of my favorite services that has Family Readiness Groups consisting of family members and volunteers of different units to assist and be first responders to family members of those that have fallen and support families with grants to assist in cost and emotional morale of the dreadful burial process of a fallen warrior. Last but definitely not least is the Gold Star Program and there's no sense in paraphrasing so I will quote them directly. "When a Ranger has paid the Ultimate Sacrifice, whether in combat or in training, Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund believes there is a moral obligation to support the dependents of these Heroes. Through this program we can ensure that the essential necessities of these Gold Star families go uninterrupted. We are proud to stand with them." -  ARMY RANGER LEAD THE WAY FUND

If this is only a small part of what I can do to show my appreciation and support for our heroes fighting for our lives and our rights then I'm all over it. I want to run this course for these individuals who selflessly puthemselves out there for us. I'm not asking for huge donations, every little bit counts. None of it is for me, every penny is for those warriors.

My goal is to reach $1000 in donations. I'd be happy to see any amount go to them but this is my personal goal. What I would really like to see is some pledge donations. This is a 10 - 12 mile long course with 20 obstacles and I would love to have the extra motivation behind my drive for this. So please, help me gain entry to this amazing event by helping me reach this donation goal of $1000 and most importantly helping our troops and their families!
