Aron Rook is an artist who doesn't spend a lot of time thinking about the same things that others contemplate. She lives, loves, touches and experiences as an extension of her artistic expression. She's not a person who gets involved in politics, other peoples' drama or social issues. She does however love her community and hopes that her art inspires and pleases folks the way that their individuality catches her eye and inspires her hand. This year, though, there is one great equal rights campaign that Aron wants to salute. She wants to paint a mural that applauds the triumpf and recognizes the loss experienced in the LGBTQ community. And when she says that community, she means all of us. We are not defined by what we love. We are alive because we love. William Blake wrote that great things happen when man and mountain meet. Aron wants a two story mural paying tribute to the struggles and beauty of the LGBTQ community to be representative of that greatness. Will you help Aron create the mural? On a public street in downtown Harrisburg there is a blank wall that needs to tell the story of struggle, set back and success. Please check your wallet and contribute what you can. We'll post pictures as the concept and project continue. All your contributions are made directly to the Charles Bruce Foundation (CBF). The CBF helps Writers, Artists and Musicians: people like Aron. And because of that, your contribution to her mural is tax deductible.
