BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
EVENT DATE: Apr 29, 2017
My mom just passed away from colon cancer. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death after lung cancer. Each U.S. citizen has a 6 percent lifetime risk of colorectal cancer. When colorectal cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, five-year survival rates are about 90 percent; however, less than 40 percent of patients present at an early stage.
Colon cancer is a sneaky disease and early screening and detection is so important. I will be selling many of my paintings and crafts at a special open house. All money raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
