PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOP INC wrote -
To mark the Workshop’s more than 50-year history, our Fifth-Annual Student Showcase, Rhythms & Rhymes, will highlight our students' year-long focus on the process toward performance! To ensure this event is accessible for everyone, attendance is FREE. But our students can’t perform on the famous Brava stage without the generosity of supporters like you!
“Support a Performance”-$500: A gift of $500 ensures that one of our seven classes performs on the Brava stage May 19th. This gift says, “Yes, I believe in the process toward performance, and I know that process will shine through on the Brava stage in May!”
“Support a Teaching Artist”-$175: A gift of $175 is a pledge of support to one of our seven teaching artists with students performing in May. Their art forms? Theater/monologue, spoken word poetry, Capoeira, world dance, and music. Glenda, Heather, Lisa, Natasha, Nicole, Salê, and Vanessa would love to have your support!
“Support a Performer”-$75: A gift of $75 goes to supporting one of our 60 student performers who will bravely grace the stage in May.
“Support a Family”-$40: A gift of $40 supports four seats in the Brava theater for a family of a performing student, becacuse this is a celebration of creative expression, but also community.
This year, we're committed to making our Showcase all the more relevant to our Workshop communities. Because our work is concerned with the interaction of art and what's relevant in our students' lives. Because we work with our students, and not for them. And because five-year anniversaries are big. And if you're like many of our students, and it's your very first performance on a professional stage, the memory stays with you long after the spotlight fades. So please give to keep this five-year tradition going strong!
