THE STORY:

Dania Rothenberg wrote -

Camp Ramah in the Berkshires is now in the final phase of our Art Opens Doors campaign, bringing re-envisioned camp-wide arts facilities to Ramah. With your help, we will be able to  transform the Ramah camping experience for thousands of children, inspiring creativity, promoting Jewish identity, and bringing beauty and meaning to the entire Ramah community.

We are proud to have completed the first stages of this campaign, enabling:

--the construction and opening of a beautiful new Welcome Center that includes administrative offices and a reception area for visitors, staff, and campers. Our administrative and programmatic team are now under one roof, facilitating a new synergy and adding an infusion of creativity.

--the expansion of the Hofaah (Performing Arts) facilities to include a dressing room, enhanced lighting and improved acoustics and stage and house design.

We are now heading into the final stage of this project, and your support is vital to ensuring our success!  Your gift to Art Opens Doors will enable us to build a beautiful new Omanut (Visual Arts) center, that will include ample space for drawing, painting, crafting, pottery, ceramics, mosaics, weaving, jewelry making and metal work.

We are thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor has offered CRB a challenge grant to support our Art Opens Doors project.  For every $2 you donate to this campaign, they will match with a $1 donation (up to $75,000).  This is a unique opportunity for your gift to have a larger impact than ever: your $180 gift today will in fact be worth $270, your $360 gift will be worth $540, etc.

"What is so fantastic about art is that it encompasses all you know, think, feel and imagine… The richness of the art experience asks students to bring what they know, to learn and develop their skills and to combine this with imagination, information and vision. Art has always empowered children with independence, creativity and joy. CRB’s new Arts Complex will provide technology, tools, and a dynamic space in which campers can develop and create.
Camp offers both context and setting for exploring specific media and techniques. From woodworking, metal smithing, jewelry, book making, mosaic, leather and ceramics, campers will work in the tradition of Bezalel – bringing their individual experience while learning from their rich Judaic tradition and combining these strengths to fully create their artistic visions.”
 - Ellen Alt is a professional artist and art educator who coordinated art at CRB in the 1980’s and early 2000s.

We are so grateful for the dedication of our alumni.  Join us in making this dream a reality, helping us bring a new level of excellence in arts programming to current and future CRB campers!
