We believe that art has the power to change lives. Morrison Art Project amplifies the voice of children by promoting their access to the therapeutic process of art making, encouraging their creativity, problem-solving skills and imaginative play. Founded in 2016, Morrison Art Project’s original goal was to engage a few primary schools and offer free art classes to disadvantaged students after school which would be otherwise unavailable to them. In their first program run, 300 students from 6 schools signed up. Their artworks were exhibited and sold at O’Casey’s in March 2017 as a fundraiser for art supplies. The current program session reaches 750 children from 11 primary schools in Central and Western Area Freetown. Because this is a free program for the parents and already poorly equipped schools, art supplies are very limited and are provided by the teaching artists. Morrison Art Project could greatly benefit from your cash and or art supply donations.
