BENEFITING: Pine Ridge Center for Artists and CRAFTERS
My passion for working with Oglala Lakota artists from Pine Ridge evolved into the idea for the art center. And then I learned that many other people share this vision. And so the Pine Ridge Center for Artists and Crafters was incorporated last year and received 501c3 status earlier this year. We have accomplished much in that short time but we need your help to accomplish our first big goals!
Funds are urgently needed for canopies, tables, chairs, fees, signage, display pieces, for vendor booths (selling opportunities) during the Bike Rally, Buffalo Roundup, and powwows this Summer and Fall.
And the sooner we get the supply store up and running, the better: It is a critical first step in creating more lucrative business opportunities for Native artists on the Reservation. To open the supply store we need rent, payroll, an initial inventory and an inventory system.
Please take a look at our web site for more information. If you're not familiar with the situation on the Reservation, Google Pine Ridge and spend a few moments reading and looking at images.
Then ... please consider a gift of any amount to help make an immediate and lasting difference in one of the most desperate places in our country.
And if you'd like to do more, consider volunteering or discussing this program with your church or employer. Or start your own Crowdrise campaign for the PRCAC! Pilamaya. Thank you!
