I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 25--nearly 20 years. Once I got a handle on managing my arthritis via medications and Arthritis Foundation young adult support groups, I started to find ways to challenge myself physically. I did this for a variety of reasons. I wanted to push myself to see what I was capable of. I wanted to spite my arthritis. And I wanted to keep moving forward because any type of physical activity always made me feel better. Recently I hiked a half marathon on trails in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was looking for my next challenge and Jeff presented the perfect one!
I support Jeff's commitment to raise funds and awareness for the Arthritis Foundation, while also engaging in an activity he loves. Here's to 50 miles (I'm not gonna do it in one day; I know my body won't be happy about that.) in July and August!
