BENEFITING: Artsbridge Inc Making A Difference Through Art
We want to show the world about the important work that we do!
Artsbridge works with Palestinian, Israeli, and American youth, teaching them new ways to manage conflict. Every summer in the U.S. our student youth come together for an intensive three weeks of programming. Over the course of this time, they create original works of visual art/ film with partners from different backgrounds and engage in constructive dialogue. They also tackle challenging topics and learn about different perspectives. Here students are given the tools necessary to listen, speak, reflect, and create. With these skills, they then return to their home communities and incite meaningful change. Students continue the work they started with Artsbridge by participating in follow-up seminars and doing community service work.
Artsbridge has been helping youth since 2007, and the impact is visible - not just with the students who participate, but also in their families and communities at large. It is high time we let the word out about our programming - and what better way to do it than through film, a medium our students are well acquainted with!
Yazan Ass'ad, a participant from our first year - who later returned as a peer leader, a counselor, and a film instructor - will be leading this project, starting with filming our 2013 students during their final reunion seminar in the conflict region. He will continue to film throughout this year's summer program.
Please help us raise money for equipment rental - support Yazan, our students, and our organization as a whole!
