From Art with Heart:
In the wake of the unspeakable horror of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, Art with Heart is most concerned for the surviving children who are left to try to make sense of the lone gunman’s senseless act.
Art with Heart wants to support these children by sending them our current grief workbooks – the books that helped little Anthony’s class after he passed away. We will need to reprint and customize it for the children in Newtown so that they will have a resource to use now and in the coming weeks to help them cope and express their broken hearts.
If you would like to contribute, the approximate total cost will be between $15-20 per child. There are approximately 555 students at the Elementary School, so every dollar helps.
Anthony’s fourth grade teacher Terri O’Connor said of Art with Heart’s resources, “My students had been holding their breath – scared that at any moment, something else horrible was going to happen. Art with Heart’s books became their textbook for healing. They helped them exhale and begin breathing again.”
