The folks at The Foundation for Antarctic Research have opened their hearts to the Arctic and a wonderful Polar Bear named ARTURO. He is the last remaining captive Polar Bear in Argentina and calls homeThe Mendoza Zoo. The zoo has a long and wonderful history but has fallen on difficult times ~ Activists refer to Arturo as "The Saddest Polar Bear in the World ~ his space is small and not suited to an Arctic animal. The media has publicized his plight and a recent petition on change.org has close to One Million Signatures. The zoo has begun construction on a new enclosure but needs funds to complete Arturo's new Ice Palace. Join with us and Help Arturo, and the Mendoza Zoo, realize their dream. All funds benefit The Mendoza Zoo ~ Arturo Project.
Via me ~ #Arturo the 'Saddest Polar Bear in the World" ~ The title given to this poor creature is due to the habitat he is in. The habitat that Arturo is currently in is NOT sufficient to maintain his life. Even with almost a million signatures on a single petition the Zoo refuses to move him ~ "Gustavo Pronotto, director of Mendoza Zoo, said Tuesday that the bear, named Arturo, is too elderly to make the nearly 6,000-mile journey." Due to this not being a possibility we at the Foundation have determined that the least we can do is raise money to get him a better habitat!! In no world should any animal suffer just because he cant leave. Many have told us we are 'not true activist for supporting the zoo' when in fact we are SUPPORTING ARTURO! He deserves better and we can deliver that so will you join us? Any donated amount will go directly to his new habitat and we are in the process of confirming it will not be used for another polar bear! What I can tell you is that this may be the most URGENT fundraiser we have done in a while. If we cant fix his habitat he could possibly die from the heat! So please join us, share, donate, or whatever you are comfortable with!
