Jai Tyndale-Mahne's Fundraiser:

Helping to get a Charity for Autism Off the Ground

I live on the North West Coast of Tasmania with my three youngest children, two of which are on the Autism Spectrum and one who has ADHD and NVLD. A group of friends and I are going to start a charity for our region as there is nothing around to support the influx of families arriving in our region to access the Autism Centre that was built in our town. We want to build a Charity, called ASD North West Tasmania Incorporated, which will become a contact point for new families to the region. We will provide them with relevant information and also we want to build an Occupational Therapy Equipment Library specifically for autistic children. That is our mid-term goal. The important thing first is to raise the much needed funds to set up the charity within the next couple of months. Start up costs are minimal; we don't need much. Only $3000 and we know there are good folks out there who can help us to raise the money.

Autism rates are increasing and it shows no sign of abating. We want to be able to provide parents with as much support and ongoing assistance as we can. Creating this charity will help people in a rural and regional area that covers the North-West and West coast of Tasmania. If you can help, please think about donating to this very worthy cause. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
