BENEFITING: SUSAN G. KOMEN MASSACHUSETTS
This year I am walking the Susan G Komen in honor of my best friend Katherine Wall who passed away September 2nd to breast cancer. She had repeatedly battled breast cancer but in 2014, it went back into remission, for the third time. She was a three sport athlete at Arlington High School and at UMass Boston where she graduated in 2008. If she was not playing sports, she was playing with her nephew and niece. And if she wasn't doing that, she was at work- Dallin or the Boys and Girls Club (where I met her). She has been a big part of my life since I met her and always made me feel special no matter what the situation was.
The thing I will always remember about this girl is her outgoing personality, her contagious laugh, and my last conversation with her the night before she passed away. Although she was not communicating through words, she spoke with her eyes. I was standing by her bedside with two other close friends and someone asked her "Will you watch over Ashley especially during her senior year? Or help her get into her college?" And her eyes opened the biggest we had seen since we had been there. We truly had a special relationship and I will miss the chance of making a birthday cake for her every July 14th.
I know you are watching over me but I want you to know I miss you and I love you!
