BENEFITING: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY-REBUILD MICHIGAN
EVENT: Mighty Mac Swim 2016
EVENT DATE: Sep 05, 2016
I started swimming at the age of eight when my attempts at all other sports failed. It wasn't long after I put on my first pair of leaky goggles that I developed a love of all things water. I swam mostly fly and IM for Pinckney High School and afterwards went on to play water polo at Michigan State University. I then joined U.S. Masters Swimming and started swimming for the Stray Cats out of the Lansing area. I have competed in meets all over Michigan, including open water races. I now live in Petoskey and am lucky enough to enjoy swims in Little Traverse Bay all summer long.
When I heard about the Mighty Mac Swim I knew right away this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The fact that the funds it raises support Habitat for Humanity makes the effort that much more rewarding. As a Critical Care Nurse, I am fortunate enough to see patients get second chances. It would mean a lot to do something that I’m so passionate about while also giving a deserving family a second chance at having a home. However, I can not participate in this race without others helping out. Please consider giving a donation to help me reach the goal of $5,000 that will be used to build affordable homes for families throughout Michigan. I can give you my word that I’ll give it my all! Thank you so much for your consideration and support.
