Ainsley's Angels is thrilled to help ensure Ashton can soon roll with the wind safely in the brand new BLADE, by Team Hoyt Racing Chairs! With your generosity, we are certain this can happen soon. Additionally, the goal associated with this page also includes a special surprise for Ashton to have his own timed race bib and earn the title Marathoner this October! Details to come later in 2015 on that special event!
Here is a note from Ashton's mother:
Ashton has been beating his runners in races by less than a second since March of 2012 as a rider athlete with Team Hoyt VB. He's tackled anything from 1-milers (on his own two feet!) up to several half-marathons with the aid of his angels!
What makes all of this so special is Ashton has Autism and has little drive to do anything physical outside of the normal everyday activities. But on race morning, he usually wakes up extra early with excitement exclaiming, "It's race day!". He loves the feeling of excitement at the start line as he smiles and flaps his hands. He gives high 5s and fist bumps to anyone who stops near him and when lined up at the start line with his friends, the giggles and clapping starts! He sits excitedly with his pretzels (don't all amazing athletes need a little carbs and salt on race day?) and has a blast from start to finish. The race atmosphere is one that would bother most children with Autism but Ashton thrives on it. He loves it and proclaims his Angels and himself the winner at every single finish line! Doesn't matter how fast or not as fast they go; he wins every single time!
This new race chair would mean the world to us and Ashton. Being a growing teenage boy means he's outgrown the standard joggers that Team Hoyt VB uses. He has one that currently fits, but he's quickly outgrowing it too, both by weight and height. Also, having a jogger chair that folds down would be of utmost importance to us because we need to be able to transport it from race to race and also store it at our house. Having a custom racing chair means it would be fit for Ashton's needs, comfort and growth. Plus, it would be significantly more portable for ease of transportation. Thank you for your support!

Here is a note from Aric who will be pushing Ashton:
I have known Ashton for about 3 years now and have pushed him and ran with him on several occassions. No matter the weather that kid loves to ride in that chair; especially on race day. He is constantly laughing, smiling and waving to everyone we pass. It definitely empowers me and gives me that extra drive to push just a little harder. I'm thrilled to be a part of this team!!! Now let's raise some money and make this amazing kid smile!
